India's plans for the Science-20 Meeting and Related Events at the G20 Summit in July 2023

In July of the following year, as it holds the presidency of the G-20, a gathering of the science ministers of the member countries would take place in Coimbatore. The scientific administrators will also hold the 'Research Innovation Initiated Gathering (RIIG) on the topic Research and Innovation for Equitable Society' in addition to the Science-20 Summit.
Jitendra Singh, the minister of science and technology, presided over a meeting of six science ministries and agencies on Saturday to discuss the S-20 summit preparations. In order to highlight India's rich cultural legacy and diversity, a variety of side activities associated with the Science-20 and RIIG sessions have been organised across the nation, according to an official release.
The principal scientific adviser to the government of India, Prof. Ajay K. Sood, and renowned structural chemist Gautam Desiraju will serve as the Secretariat's distinguished members. Vijay P. Bhatkar, the creator of the PARAM series of supercomputers, will serve as the Secretariat's chair. On January 30 and 31, the S-20 meeting's first meeting will take place in Puducherry, while the side event on 'non-conventional energy for a greener future' will take place on February 27 and 28 on Bangaram Island in Lakshadweep.
Connecting Science to Society' and 'Culture and Holistic Health: Cure and Prevention of Disease' are two side events that will take place in Agartala (April 3-4) and Indore (June 16-17), respectively. Kolkata, India will host the RIIG's inaugural meeting on February 9–10, with more events planned for Ranchi, India (March 21–22), Dibrugarh, India (March 24–25), Shimla, India (April 19–20), and Diu, India (April 19–20). (May 18-19). Mumbai will host the RIIG Summit and the Research Ministers meeting from July 4 to July 6.
The development of better and motivating frameworks for environmentally friendly technologies, the assertion of IP sharing and technology transfers, and the development of a global ecosystem for start-up mentorship and funding are among the expected deliverables of the S-20 and RIIG, according to Singh. The creation of a common digital global heritage that is accessible to all citizens will also be one of the themes for the two science events, according to the statement.
Other themes include encouraging more mega science projects, developing a framework for global holistic health programmes and mental health programmes, creating a common cultural dialogue for science through more engagement programmes and interdisciplinary partnerships, and creating a common cultural dialogue for science.
